2016 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)
At Northview State School, students have the opportunity to participate in The University of New South Wales International Competitions and Assessments for Schools from years 3-6.
These competitions are a great way to extend your child but are not compulsory. There is an additional cost to participate in each test and as this is a voluntary activity it will not be covered by our Student Re-
source Scheme.
The form, attached to the last page of the Newsletter, should be submitted through the school office with payment by Monday 21st March.

ICAS is an annual skills development assessment program in key areas of learning for students inYears 2-12 (we offer it here at Northview in years 3-6).

ICAS gathers information performance information through a 30-60 minute supervised in-school test ICAS provides a continuous, independent and comprehensive record of a student’s performance, and maps their development over the full period of primary and secondary schooling.

Achievement certificates are awarded to all students at a range of levels:
High Distinction to the top 1% of students
Distinction to the next 10% of students
Credit to the next 25% of students
Merit to the next 10% of students
Participation to all other students

Your child can also prepare for ICAS using Practice Online. Practice Online tests are available for English, Mathematics and Science.
